DIANE VENORA'S BIO & RESUMÉ

| Diane Venora has an impressive list of credits encompassing film, television and theater. A graduate of the prestigious Juilliard School of Drama in New York, Ms. Venora was awarded the New York Film Critics Award and received a Golden Globe nomination for her portrayal of Chan Parker in Clint Eastwoods Bird. On stage she had the distinction of playing the title role in a New York Shakespeare Festival production of Hamlet for Joseph Papp. Her many feature credits include two Michael Mann films, The Insider opposite Russell Crowe, and Heat opposite Robert De Niro and Al Pacino. Making her film debut in Wolfen, other early films include the portrayal of Gloria Swanson in The Cotton Club with Antonio Banderas in "The Thirteenth Warrior" and starring opposite Tom Berenger in The Substitute. Additional films include James Ivorys Surviving Picasso, Baz Lurhmanns Romeo + Juliet, Martha Coolidges Three Wishes, Michael Caton Joness The Jackal and playing Gertrude in a modern-day adaptation of Hamlet with Ethan Hawke. Venora recently completed production on The Gleam of Dawn and Self Medicated. Television audiences saw her in a number of episodes of the Emmy Award winning CBS series, Chicago Hope as Dr. Geri Infante. Other television series appearances include episodes of NBCs Law and Order and Law and Order: Special Victims Unit. Venora has also appeared in a number of movies for television. Ms. Venora continues to work in theater, coaching, teaching and studying the classics. |
