It’s an amalgam of your imagination and your personalization. Personalization is what Stanislavski called the magic “if”. If I were this character, if I were born in this time, right? How would I feel? So, it's the imagination, but it’s got to be my feelings, because I'm never going to know what it's like to be Daniel Greer, even though we grew up in a very similar, almost exact latitude and longitude, I don't know what it is to be you and you're never going to know what it is to be me and I'm never going to know what it is to be Christine. So you’ve got to start with you, as Billie Holiday said: “You’ve got to be yourself, cuz everybody else is taken”. So it’s: “How do I feel?” coupled with- it’s a great question- coupled with my imagination, cuz it’s gotta be my imagination but I've gotta play somebody found - You know Hamlet’s advice to the players: “ I have seen players play, and heard others praise, and that highly, not to speak it profanely, having neither the accent of Christian nor pagan, nor man, have so strutted and bellowed that I have thought that some of nature’s journeymen had made men and not made them well, they imitated humanity so abominably.” What does that mean? You got to be a person and the only person you can act from is Daniel Greer, cuz in this incarnation, that's who you are.
