Thoughts are not grammatical. “There’s something I’ve been meaning to say to you for a really long time” The way you feel about things, you think long thoughts. When you’re passionate about something, you don’t think of it in segments or quadrants. In most scenes, if you’re talking about the pre-break up or the pre-pre breakup”, there’s three sentences there that are all part of one major thought.
