WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO JOIN THE ZOOM VIDEO CLASS:

  • Google chrome browser (recommended, not required)
  • Good lighting (sit near a window)
  • built in camera and audio speakers
  • a laptop (recommended) or smartphone or tablet
  • click here for an optional video tutorial that will introduce you to zoom if you're curious!
  • click here for a video tutorial on how to hide non-video participants (we strongly recommend you do this, as it helps you just to focus on the teacher and the performer when everyone else turns their video feeds off).  If you need us to walk you through this before the class starts tomorrow - that's fine too!

If you've never participated in a Zoom session previously, we strongly encourage you to log onto the session 15-20 minutes before the scheduled start time of 11:00am EST to ensure your audio/video/wi-fi are working properly and/or click here to jump on a test meeting.  If you need any assistance signing on, please email workshop@tomtodoroff.com!

CLASS ETIQUETTE:

AUDIO / VIDEO:

  • Depending on when you log on to the class, you may be directed to a waiting room.  Don't worry if you see this!  Please just wait for us to admit you to the class- it won't be long.  We use the waiting room feature so that we prevent latecomers from interrupting while an actor is in the midst of a performance.
  • When one or two performers are called up to work, please turn your video off and keep your audio on mute
  • When you are called upon to perform, please keep your video on and turn your audio on as well
  • During group discussions / Q&A session following each performer's coaching session, everyone's video will be on and Tom will ask you to either turn your audio on or keep it on mute, depending on what the discussion calls for.
  • If we see that an attendee has forgotten to turn off audio / video when a performer is starting to work - we may go ahead and turn it off at the admin/host level.  If this happens - we will need to "ask you to start video" again once we are all together in our group discussion.  If you don't see a prompt from the host and you are unable to turn your video or audio back on - just write us a message in the "chat" area, located in menu bar at the bottom of the screen, and we'll make sure you're taken care of!
  • Make sure you are hands free!  You'll need to take notes or jump up to perform - so you can't be holding your phone at the same time.

ASKING A QUESTION:

  • Please raise your hand to ask a question. You can do this by going to the "Participants" icon at the bottom of your screen and clicking on "raise hand".

PARTICIPATING IN THE CHAT:

  • To participate in the chat during class simply click on the "chat" icon at the bottom of your screen and the chat screen will open.  The chat is best used to offer words of support as someone is performing, or if you missed something that was just said, ask for it to be repeated, or if you need help of any sort - just write to the TT Team in the chat area.  If you prefer not to participate in the chat, that's also completely fine!
  • Have materials for note-taking!

LIVE CLASS - NO RECORDING PLEASE:

Note, this class will be recorded for TT Studio files. Any video that includes an actor performing will not be shared unless express permission of the actor is granted.  Class attendees may not record or share the class.
